The actual main part song doesn't begin until after a 20-second speech intro, which is a boner shrinker for me if I'm on the dance floor. As a DJ, I like songs that have a strong beginning and consistent beat. Unfortunately, this version has several sections where there is just talking or no bass beat. It's hard to beat-match speech with cello undertones...lol.
It has the distinctive vintage flavor of Madonna's "Express Yourself." This can be found in the 'love yourself' message and the fact that the chorus in both songs have the same chord progression. Overall, I love the concept of the song. I just wish they had edited it a little better and added a more chunky beat. The bass line in the song is muted and lost in the treble, like most 80s songs were.
Can't wait until the remixes come out though!

This is a first impression, first reaction review and does not take into account the 'it will grow on you' factor. I'll write again once it's been tested on the dance floor. Take a listen and leave comments.
