Lady Gaga with No Makeup: Hot or Not? Hot!

When you’re at the height of your career as a superstar and are known for your risqué, unbelievable (and controversial) fashion, what do you do to shock the world, or prove that you were “Born This Way?” You strip down and bare it all. Such was the action that Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (better known as Lady GaGa) proved on March 26, 2012 when she posted a photo through Twitter showcasing the softer side of the woman that is behind her audacious personality.

(You may have remembered the Harper’s Bazaar editorial in which she underwent a complete transformation, head to toe, again, being make-up less.) The look in the photo is very basic, but gives the audience, and her fans, the image of what she appears to be like in her downtime as a normal human being. Maybe the lyrics from a Led Zeppelin song say it best: “Made up my mind to make a new start. Going to California with an aching in my heart. Someone told me there’s a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.” GaGa wears a white rose in her hair in the photo.



However, we as a society often have to wonder, does GaGa want to make a lasting impression becoming more “au-natural,” with the public or will she choose to continue paving the way with her
kooky fashion sense that leaves her “little monsters,” wanting more? Either way, she hits the mark regardless when she steps out, and as of late, she seems to be maturing into a demure type of GaGa, becoming more fashionable (sans the Avant Garde, at times) and transitioning to a style fit for Audrey Hepburn. (Or at least the Audrey Hepburn of the future…)

For example, the last photos that GaGa posted to her Twitter account were very tasteful. One has her posing in a vehicle with her hair in a posh up-do, wearing regal gold earrings, and Willy Wonky-
esque sunglasses. Sure, the glasses may be a bit funky, but each feature manages to work together to create a classic, timeless, and impeccable look. Another photo from the account shows a profile shot from the right, wearing a basic blue fitted top, her signature thick eyebrows and remarkably huge, sparkling earrings (could have fooled me for Lorraine Schwartz!) in which she asks her followers “Miss you monsters. About 1 month until tour. Whatdya think of these fake baubles?”

Although many people question the morals of this fine young woman, we absolutely have to take into consideration the impression she has created upon us all, whether we choose to like it or not.
Every decade, and at the rate of time that the world runs at, there will soon be another woman (or man) willing to challenge Lady GaGa. As far as I’m concerned, the persona she has built will have a mighty reign for years (and centuries) to come. Congratulations Miss Germanotta. May the odds ever be in your favor.
